Biceps brachii long head | tubercle above glenoid cavity on scapula (supraglenoid tubercle) | radial tuberosity of radius, and bicipital aponeurosis | elbow flexion, supination of radioulnar joint, shoulder flexion. |
Biceps brachii short head | corocoid process | radial tuberosity of radius, and bicipital aponeurosis | elbow flexion, supination of radioulnar joint, shoulder flexion. |
Brachialis | distal, anterior surface of humerus. | ulnar tuberosity and coronoid process of ulna. | elbow flexion. |

Triceps brachii lateral head | lateral and posterior surfaces of humerus superior to radial groove. | olecranon process of ulna. | elbow extension; shoulder extension. Adduction of shoulder (long head); shoulder extension (glenohumeral joint). |
Triceps brachii medial head | posterior surface of humerus inferior to groove for radial nerve. | olecranon process of ulna. | elbow extension; shoulder extension. Adduction of shoulder (long head); shoulder extension (glenohumeral joint). |
