- Insertion: base of patella, tibial tuberosity.
Function.
- Concentric action: accelerate knee extension.
- Reverse mover action: thigh extension.
- Eccentric action: decelerates knee flexion.
- Isometric action: stabilization of the knee.
- Innervation: femoral nerve.
- Arterial supply: deep femoral artery.
